It was a blissful St. Patrick’s Day, everyone had their green party hats on and clover glasses celebrating their love and toasting to marriage at the beautiful Laboratory Mill. He held the microphone in his hand. His lips quivered. His knees were probably shaking a little. This was the moment he had been waiting for almost his entire life, after all this was his only daughter. As he pressed the microphone to his lips and started to talk, to toast, everyone started to focus on him, started walking closer so they wouldn’t miss a word and the entire room was quiet. And the moment I will never forget, through all the tears and all the laughs, was when he looked at his daughter and said “You were a gift from God and we love you and are so happy that God gave you Palmer”.
Each toast after Dad’s declared more and more about the two of them. Best friends telling each other’s secrets and stories. The childhood moments that made the whole room laugh, even teary eyed. The maid of honor and bestman didn’t need to make a toast full of stories describing who they are. Because we all know the kind of people Caroline and Palmer are. If you’re around them for more than 2 minutes you will know, they are infectious, joyful and loving people. Each toast was intentional and intricate to their story of who they are. The start of their forever.
Caroline, I’m so grateful to have known you and your family for years. Way before we knew anything about love and hair straighteners. Your infectious smile and laughter was more evident on your wedding day than I can ever remember and I can’t help but thank Palmer for that. Your wedding was epic and full of love. You two are meant to be. Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of capturing one of the most important days of your lives.
