We started a new blog series this fall for the chance to share more about other “Friendors” (wedding vendors) in the Charlotte area!   As small business owners we all strive for word of mouth referrals. Then this idea popped into my head to help educate clients and those recently engaged to hear a little bit from different types of vendors other than photography!

Most of the vendors you’ll hear from in this series I have either worked with already or have met and become friends with but haven’t worked with YET! I’m so excited to see what they share and hopefully this little blog series helps someone find the perfect vendor dream team for their big day!

Cassie with Little Eye Film Co is a Charlotte Wedding Videographer and has worked with me a couple times and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know personally! She moved to Charlotte from Arizona and I have so enjoyed watching her grow in this market. She’s now expecting their second child and I’m so delighted for her and little family!

When I was in college I actually was the school’s wrestling team videographer so I have a love and respect for videography. It’s something I know I’m going to budget for for my own wedding so I’m a big advocate for my couples when they’re deciding how important it really is. When I asked Cassie why she thinks hiring  a professional videographer is important, this is what she had to say:

What are three reasons for hiring a professional wedding videographer?

When I first started out, videography was definitely more of an add on or second thought for most couples so I am SO happy that over the years it has really started to become more of a standard when planning your wedding. I always tell potential brides when they reach out that even if you don’t go with me you NEED a wedding videographer. In fact when I got married 6 years ago, I almost didn’t have one. We ended up booking one super last minute and it is hands down the best decision I ever made and my favorite thing from our wedding day. It was actually the reason I started getting interested in videography in the first place! So even though I could probably write a novel on the importance of wedding videographers, here are a few reasons why you should get one.

1. You can relive your wedding day through video in a way you cannot through pictures.

Definitely not saying this to minimize a photographers role in your wedding day (love you heather!!) but many times I hear couples not wanting to shell out for videography because they think their pictures are enough. They are not enough. When you watch your wedding video, you will literally be able to be transported back to that very day. You will be able to feel all the emotions you felt over again, hear the exact words that were spoken, and basically relive your day. Video captures motion. You will be able to watch your day from beginning to end. It is like being the star of your own movie. Weddings pass so quickly and this is a way to preserve it forever and ever.

2. It allows those who cannot be there to experience your day, and it allows you to have memories of those who are no longer here.

Not only does it make it so any relatives or friends who couldn’t make it feel like they were there after watching it, but it allows you to have recorded memories of loved ones after they leave this earth. I know that sounds kinda morbid but I have had so many brides lose loved ones and express to me how grateful they are to have video footage of them interacting together that they can watch whenever they want. Also a side note- how cool will it be for your children and their children and their children and so on be able to watch the day you got married? I know I would love to see my grandparents tie the knot!

3. You will never regret having more memories from your wedding day.

It is very unlikely you are going to look back years from now and think “man I wish we still had $xxxx in our bank account instead of our stupid wedding video.” Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. There is no such thing as having too many photos or videos of your wedding day. You will even treasure the shaky iPhone videos your relatives post on Facebook! If money is what is holding you back- find a way to make it work. You will not regret it. The great thing is there are videographers in every price point. If you really want a videographer but are unable to sacrifice your down payment on a house to find a cheaper one! Just remember that you definitely pay for what you get. I think it is important to value the work you are paying someone to do but I also do not encourage anyone going into debt over it.

Thank you Cassie for sharing your heart and passion! I totally agree with that last statement. You get what you pay for but I don’t encourage anyone going into debt over it. It’s all about respect and what they value. If you wanted to follow Cassie and see more of her amazing work go follow her on Instagram and Subscribe to her youtube channel!
